Day 7th May: NATURAL PARK SIERRA DE GRAZALEMA
LEVEL A: HIKE TO VENTANA PEAK (13 KM, +800m/-800m)
After breakfast, transfer to Benaoján. This spectacular route takes you through the limestone landscapes of the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park, climbing up to Pico Ventana (1,298 m), a natural rock window overlooking the valleys of Benaoján and Ubrique. Along the trail, you’ll walk among holm oak forests, rocky ridges, and traditional shepherd paths, enjoying sweeping views across the mountains and, on clear days, even the coast of Cádiz. A moderately challenging hike with a truly rewarding summit panorama. Dinner and overnight in Grazalema.
LEVEL B: MONTEJAQUE TO BENAOJAN (13 KM, +300m/-500m)
After breakfast, transfer to Montejaque. Beautiful route between the historic villages of Montejaque (a word of Arabic origin meaning 'Lost Mountain') and Benaoján (also from Arabic, 'Son of Oján" or 'House of the Baker'). We will also pass by the Ermita de la Escarihuela, the Old Road to Ronda, the Gato Cave (declared a Natural Monument in 2011 and also showing, like the nearby Cueva de la Pileta, traces of human presence in the area from the Paleolithic), the Royal Cañada of the Campo de Gibraltar, and the Source of the Cascajales at Benaoján Station. The route runs through Mediterranean vegetation, olive groves, meadows, arable land, and riparian vegetation. It takes place in the easternmost part of the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park. Dinner and overnight in Grazalema.
Day 8th May: NATURAL PARK SIERRA DE GRAZALEMA
LEVEL A. HIKE TO SIMANCON PEAK (11 KM, +800m/-800m)
This route invites us to discover one of the most characterful mountain ranges in Andalusia, the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park. From its heights, hikers can enjoy panoramic views of the Gaditan landscape, including the ascent to Simancón Peak (1,569 m), one of the most emblematic summits in the park, offering spectacular 360° views over the Sierra de Grazalema and the surrounding valleys. The itinerary combines two signposted trails that start near the village of Grazalema: the Puerto de las Presillas Trail and the Camino de los Charcones Trail. Both meet at Puerto del Boyar, allowing you to ascend one path and descend the other — a circular route that reveals a wide range of landscapes and environments. Dinner and overnight in Grazalema.
LEVEL B. GRAZALEMA - LLANOS DEL ENDRINAL - PUERTO DE LAS PRESILLAS - MIRADOR DEL BOYAR (7 km, +380 m/-380 m)
The route offers stunning views of the cliffs home to griffon vultures, the karst formations of Puerto de las Presillas, and the surrounding Grazalema valleys. It is a comprehensive, diverse hike—ideal for nature enthusiasts, hikers, and anyone interested in history and mountain traditions. Adding to its appeal is the area’s rich ethnographic heritage, preserved through the traditional knowledge of local shepherds and mountain inhabitants. Along the way, you’ll see ancient ice pits, lime kilns, threshing floors, and watering troughs, silent witnesses to life in these mountains. Dinner and overnight in Grazalema.
Day 9th May: NATURAL PARK LOS ARCONOCALES
LEVEL A: HIKE TO ALJIBE PEAK (14 KM, +800m/-800m)
Travel to Alcornocales Natural Park for a moderate ascent to the summit of Pico Aljibe, the park's highest point, offering splendid views of the Sierra de Ronda and Grazalema. After the hike, transfer to the coastal town of Conil de la Frontera. Dinner and overnight in Conil.
LEVEL B: PICO EL PICACHO (9 KM, +600 m/-600 m)
This route starts at the El Picacho recreational area, near the El Picacho nature centre. The ascent to Picacho, the iconic peak of Los Alcornocales Natural Park, offers an up-close view of the Aljibe mountain range, the province's second-highest at 882 metres, much of which will be visible to us. The moderate difficulty of the climb is especially offset by views of much of the Cádiz province: Alcalá de los Gazules, Barbate, Vejer de la Frontera, and the neighbouring Sierra de Grazalema. Afterwards, transfer to Conil de la Frontera. Dinner and overnight stay in Conil.
Day 10th May: DAY OFF
Spend a relaxing day on the beaches of Cádiz or opt for a scenic coastal walk. Farewell dinner and overnight in Conil.
Day 11th May: DEPARTURE
