The Picos de Europa rise surprisingly close to Spain’s northern coast. From their high ridges and viewpoints, walkers can enjoy magnificent views towards the Cantabrian Sea and across the distinctively sculpted limestone peaks.
Deep valleys and green mountain pastures create a striking contrast with the high rocky summits. Livestock continues to graze on these upland pastures, preserving a way of life that has shaped the landscape for generations.

Carros de Foc (CHARIOTS OF FIRE) is a high-mountain route with a circular itinerary, connecting the nine mountain refuges inside the boundaries of the Aigüestortes i Llac de Sant Maurici National Park.
We will walk in this granite kingdom for six days, with majestic peaks and many lakes. From the Atlantic forests of the Arán Valley in the surroundings of the Colomers refuge, the chaos of large rocks in Contraix to the crystal-clear waters of the lakes that we will border day by day.
Pyrenean valleys contrast between the northern and southern areas of the park due to their climatic influence. Beech forests, fir trees between granite blocks with crystal clear waters in the background, and postcard prints that we can enjoy for six days.
Chamois, roe deer, and marmots will observe us from the ground, as well as the griffon vulture, the golden eagle and the bearded vulture will easily see us long before we do.
The Benasque Valley, in the heart of the Pyrenees, is home to the most significant number of 3,000-meter-high peaks in the Pyrenees, distributed in three groups of peaks around the Maladetas, Posets and Perdiguero massifs.
In this Trekking through the Benasque Valley, we will enjoy the spectacular landscape richness of the Posets-Maladeta Natural Park. This mountain group brings together the largest concentration of peaks over 3,000 meters in the entire Pyrenees. The Posets Maladeta Natural Park offers us an impressive set of 13 glaciers, 95 ibones (lakes of glacial origin) and waterfalls of great beauty. Deep valleys, high peaks, rivers, meadows, forests...
In addition, we will have the experience of spending a night at the Cap de Llauset Refuge, the highest year-round mountain refuge in the Pyrenees (2425m), surrounded by several 3000m peaks, including Aneto. It has been built modularly, with materials from the valley, making it more respectful of the environment.
The Somiedo Natural Park and Biosphere Reserve is home to one of the main bear and grouse populations of the Cantabrian Mountains. With the area of the Fuentes del Narcea, Degaña, and Ibias Natural Park, the multitude of relatively isolated valleys and mountains have allowed maintaining that wildlife.
Here, a hiker's paradise opens up, full of contrasts from the high peaks to the broad glacial valleys with their lakes, lagoons and pastures to the rugged and wooded river valleys.
The human being has been linked to this territory for millennia, including the "vaqueiros de alzada" and "xaldos", leaving a valuable ethnographic heritage such as the "teito cabins", the corros or the pallozas that will accompany us during all the routes.
In addition, the link with the land is still alive in these regions, Cangas de Narcea wine, sausage, heather honey or cheese are some products that will make us enjoy the gastronomic aspect of the trip.

A volcanic island of sharp ridges, ancient forests, spectacular peaks and unforgettable Atlantic landscapes.
La Palma brings together several different worlds within a single island. Located in the north-western Canary Islands, it is affectionately known as both the Green Island and La Isla Bonita—the Beautiful Island—because of its extraordinary landscapes and lush vegetation.
The entire island is recognised as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Its volcanic backbone runs from north to south, creating dramatic ridges, deep ravines and contrasting ecosystems. Trade winds and forests capture moisture from the clouds, feeding springs and watercourses and giving the island its distinctive green character.
La Palma’s mild climate, remarkable natural diversity, and extensive trail network make it an outstanding destination for walking year-round.
Our routes reveal some of the island’s most memorable natural treasures:
Walking routes may be adapted according to weather conditions, trail access and the overall well-being of the group.
Declared a National Park in 1954, Caldera de Taburiente is one of La Palma’s most iconic natural landmarks. Its immense volcanic and erosional landscape is surrounded by towering peaks, steep ravines, forests and mountain streams.
The Canary pine dominates much of the scenery. This remarkable native tree has developed an extraordinary resistance to fire after thousands of years of adaptation to the island’s volcanic environment. Its thick bark may burn while the living tree survives and produces new growth.
Water also plays an essential role in this landscape. Springs, streams and moisture captured from the clouds support the island’s forests and contribute to the remarkable ecological diversity of La Palma.
On 19 September 2021, a volcanic eruption began at Cabeza de Vaca, in the municipality of El Paso. It ended on 13 December 2021 after 85 days and 8 hours, making it the longest historical eruption recorded on La Palma.
The eruption transformed part of the island and profoundly affected local communities, destroying homes, farmland, roads, and livelihoods. One of our walking groups was already on La Palma when the eruption began and witnessed its first hours.
The experience remains a powerful reminder that La Palma is a living volcanic island—and of the extraordinary strength and resilience shown by its people.
Walking in La Palma is a journey through volcanic history, ancient forests and vibrant local culture. Every trail reveals a different side of La Isla Bonita and a landscape that continues to change, recover and inspire.
