THE HEART OF THE PYRENEES

Embark on a unique journey through the most iconic and wildest landscapes of the Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park. Over five days, we will explore glacial valleys, hanging ledges, lush forests, and natural viewpoints that offer some of the best panoramas of the Pyrenees. A perfect trip for hiking enthusiasts seeking a varied, spectacular trek full of excitement.

During this hiking trip, we will explore the geological formations, flora, and fauna of these incredible mountains and enjoy their distinctive cuisine. We will stay in rural hotels in the beautiful towns of Torla and Bielsa.

This hiking trip offers a chance to enjoy the scenery and nature of the Pyrenees in Huesca, exploring the valleys of Ordesa, Bujaruelo, the Añisclo Canyon, the Escuain Gorge, and the Pineta Valley.

The routes are of medium-high difficulty. Good physical condition and mountain experience are required.

Detailed Itinerary

5-day walking tour in Tena Valley, Torla, Ordesa, Añisclo Canyon, Bujaruelo Valley, Panticosa. Enjoy the Ordesa National Park to the fullest.

Day 1. VALLE DE ORDESA – LA FAJA RACÓN 11 Km, +550m -550m

Meet in Jaca at 8:00. Transfer to the Ordesa meadow. We begin this unforgettable trek with the route along the Racón Faja. First, we have a gradual ascent through lush forests, reaching the imposing cliffs of Faja Racon. Now, we traverse the Faja along a narrow path that offers magnificent views at every turn. After an hour on the Faja, you can admire the Cotatuero Cirque and its spectacular waterfall. The descent takes us through peaceful forests and back to the starting point. Transfer to Torla. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 2. VALLE DE BUJARUELO. RUTA POR ORDISO Y OTAL. 13 Km +350m -350m

This route crosses the Bujaruelo Valley with fabulous views of the Vignemale and encompasses the valleys of Ordiso and Otal. It is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and recommended routes to explore the Bujaruelo valley. The route passes through the meadows alongside the Ara River, one of the wildest rivers in the Pyrenees, with views of the Otal and Bujaruelo valleys. We will always walk along the vibrant waters of the Ara River, which echo against the large rock walls surrounding us. Return to Torla, dinner, and accommodation.

Day 3. EL CAÑÓN DE AÑISCLO DESDE EL PICO MONDOTO. 10 Km +680m -680m

Ascent to Pico Mondoto (1,950 m) from Nerin to see, from above, the wonderful corners of the Añisclo Canyon, as well as the high peaks of the Ordesa-Monte Perdido National Park. The contrasts and depth of the canyon are incredible, and from Pico Mondoto, we will have stunning views of the summit of Monte Perdido, the Marboré Cylinder, and the Añisclo Canyon. In the afternoon, transfer to Bielsa. Dinner and accommodation in Bielsa.

Day 4. LA GARGANTA DE ESQUAIN POR LA FAJA CAZCARRA. 10 Km +700m -700m

This beautiful route in the Garganta de Esquain will take us through picturesque landscapes, surrounded by mountains and alpine meadows. The excursion starts from the village of Escuaín. Along the way, we will have panoramic views of the upper part of the gorge: the Sierra de las Tucas, the Gurrundué cirque, and the La Sarra cirque, until we reach the Mallo Bridge, which crosses the Yaga River. The return is via the Faja Cazcarra or Senda Colgada, which has significant exposure due to its cliffs but is of incredible beauty. Return to Bielsa, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 5. VALLE DE PINETA – CIRCULAR VALLE DE PINETA . 11 Km +450m -450m

Today we are heading to the Pineta valley. To conclude this trek, we will enjoy a spectacular final day walking through the Pineta Valley. The circular route passes the magnificent waterfalls of the Cinca River and leads to the stunning hanging valley of Lalarri. We cross the Lalarri River. Today, we will explore the beautiful Pineta Valley. To wrap up this trek, we’ll enjoy a spectacular final day hiking through the valley. Our circular route will take us past the magnificent waterfalls of the Cinca River and lead us to the stunning hanging valley of Lalarri. We will cross the Lalarri River via a charming bridge to reach the expansive plains of Lalarri. On our return journey, we will follow the GR-11 trail, which runs along the entire Pyrenees mountain range. This will be an incredible day to conclude our unforgettable journey, offering panoramic views at every turn. Afterwards, we will return to Jaca, marking the end of our services.

DEPOSIT

A deposit of 20% is required to reserve a place on the tour. The Deposit should be paid immediately to ensure that the tour company Rumbo a Picos can confirm your reservation.

FINAL PAYMENT

Final payment must be made not later than 30 days prior to the tour start date.

CANCELLATION POLICY

If the client cancels his/her booking prior to the tour start date, to cover the tour company’s costs & administrative expenses, the company will retain for a cancellation prior to 90days/€50, 60days/€100, 30days/€150 and will refund to the client all other payments received by the company from the client.
If the client cancels his/her booking within 30 days of the tour start date, the tour company will not make any refund to the client.
The tour company reserves the right to modify the tour program & the itinerary in the event of circumstances outside of their control, such as Force Majure, severe or unsuitable weather or any other circumstances they consider necessary to ensure the safety of the tour participants.
If a participant decides to abandon the tour for whatever reason, he/she should inform the Guide in writing of their decision. Any related expenses must be paid by the participant.
