EXPLORE THE UNTAMED BEAUTY OF THE PICOS DE EUROPA

A spectacular walking adventure through one of Spain’s most dramatic mountain landscapes.

This journey takes you deep into the Picos de Europa National Park, exploring the rugged terrain, magnificent valleys and distinctive limestone peaks of its Western, Central and Eastern Massifs.

THREE MASSIFS, ENDLESS LANDSCAPES

Rising close to Spain’s northern coast, the Picos de Europa extend across Asturias, Cantabria and the province of León in Castile and León.

Towering summits approaching 2,650 metres, deep gorges, high mountain pastures and secluded valleys create an extraordinary variety of walking environments. Each massif has its own character, offering new scenery and a different perspective on this remarkable mountain range.

A WILD AND LIVING LANDSCAPE

The Picos de Europa form part of the wider Cantabrian mountain ecosystem, an important habitat for chamois, deer, eagles, vultures and many species of alpine flora. Bears and wolves also inhabit the broader mountain region, although sightings are rare.

This is not an empty wilderness. For generations, local communities have shared the mountains with their livestock, shaping the high pastures and preserving traditional ways of life that remain an essential part of the landscape.

WHERE THE MOUNTAINS MEET THE SEA

The proximity of the Cantabrian Sea gives the Picos de Europa their distinctive climate and, on clear days, creates remarkable views between the mountains and the Atlantic coast.

Traditional villages are scattered through the valleys and around the massifs, offering an authentic introduction to rural life, regional culture and the rich gastronomy of northern Spain.

MORE THAN A WALKING HOLIDAY

This tour combines memorable mountain walks with opportunities to discover the natural environment, history, villages and traditions of the Picos de Europa.

Experience dramatic peaks, peaceful valleys, local culture and some of the finest mountain scenery in northern Spain.
