From mountain trails and peaceful villages to medieval castles and local flavours, every day offers a new perspective on this remarkable region of Romania.

Day 1. Arrival at Bucharest

Transfer from Bucharest airport – Sinaia. Accommodation at Hotel 4*. Briefing and welcome dinner at a local restaurant.


Day 2. Hike in Bucegi massif. 15km, +400m / -1500m

Our tour will start from the Hotel. We will walk to the cable car and long Hike in Bucegi massif. Bucegi plateau -> cable car to 2000m, 3 x 2.000m+ peaks, wonderful view of Bucegi peaks, Baiului mountains and Prahova valley: 15km, +400m / -1500m. Accommodation at Hotel 4*.


Day 3. Hike in Bucegi massif. 11 km, +550m. -550m

Short Hike in Bucegi massif: From our hotel we wil walk through the centre of Sinaia admiring the central park, the Casino, until Sinaia Monastery, Peles Castle, Pelisor Castle, Foisor Castle, hiking trail to Royal Sheepfold with views across Prahova Valley and Sinaia, return via Saint Ana Cliff -> 11 km, +550m. -550m. Accommodation at Hotel 4*.


Day 4. Hike through Mountain Villages

Transfer to Rasnov. Short Hike through Mountain Villages. Trekking to Bran via several mountain villages with amazing scenery. Spare time (2 - 3 hours) to visit Bran Castle (entrance tickets not included) and transfer to Moieciu de Sus. Dinner & accommodation at Hotel Rural Vlahia Inn de Moieciu de Sus.


Day 5. Walk in the Piatra Mare Mountains. 14km, +1.100m, -1.100m

Walk in the Piatra Mare Mountains (Bucegi). Transfer to Brasov and long hike: Piatra Mare massif. Seven Stairs Gorges, Piatra Mare hut, Piatra Mare peak and return via forest trail -> 14km, +1.100m, -1.100m Transfer to the hotel. Dinner & Accommodation at Rural Vlahia Inn de Moieciu de Sus.


Day 6. Walk in the Piatra Craiului. 10.5km, +750m, -750m

Walk in the Piatra Craiului: Transfer to Zarnesti and medium hike: Piatra Craiului massif. Curmatura Hut with wonderful views onto Piatra Craiului peaks, Zarnesti Gorges + sneak peak into Cat Gorges -> 10.5km, +750m, -750m. Transfer to the hotel. Dinner & Accommodation at Rural Vlahia Inn de Moieciu de Sus.


Day 7. Hike in the Postavaru massif. 14km, +750, -1.100m

We will start our hike from the hotel, a medium-level hike: Postavaru massif. Postavaru chalet and peak + return to Brasov via the ‘old’ Brasov trail -> 14km, +750, -1.100m. Spare time to visit the old town (2 – 3 hours) and return to the hotel. Dinner & Accommodation at Rural Vlahia Inn de Moieciu de Sus.


Day 8. Transfer to Bucharest.

Transfer to Bucharest airport and end of the tour.

  IT INCLUDES:
  • 3 nights in Sinaia
    Three nights’ bed-and-breakfast accommodation at the 4-star Hotel International Sinaia or a similar hotel.
  • 4 nights in Moieciu de Sus
    Four nights’ bed-and-breakfast accommodation at the rural Vlahia Inn or a similar hotel.
  • 5 dinners
    Five dinners are included during the trip.
  • Professional mountain guide
    Guided excursions from day 2 to day 6, both days included.
  • Private minibus transport
    Private minibus transport for the scheduled transfers and excursions detailed in the itinerary.
  • Cable car journey
    The scheduled cable car journey on day 2 is included.
  • Park entrance fees
    Entrance fees for Bucegi Natural Park and Piatra Craiului National Park are included.
  DOES NOT INCLUDE:
  • Flights
    International and domestic flights are not included.
  • Personal travel insurance
    Every participant must arrange suitable personal travel and medical insurance before departure.
  • Lunches
    Lunches are not included and must be paid for separately.
  • Dinners on days 2 and 3
    Dinner is not included on days 2 and 3 of the programme.
  • Drinks
    Drinks are not included unless otherwise specified.
  • Tips and gratuities
    Tips for guides, drivers and other service providers are not included.
  • Monument entrance fees and additional services
    Entrance fees to monuments and any services not expressly listed in the “Included Services” section must be paid for separately.

Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms carefully before booking your tour. They explain our payment, cancellation, itinerary and insurance conditions.

By booking a tour with Rumbo a Picos, participants acknowledge and accept the conditions set out below.

Tour programme and itinerary

Rumbo a Picos reserves the right to make reasonable changes to the tour programme before departure when considered necessary. Whenever possible, clients will be consulted and informed in advance.

Changes may be required as a result of:

  • Weather or mountain conditions
  • Flight or airport connection changes
  • Increased hotel, transport or guide costs
  • Other significant circumstances affecting the tour

Any adjustments will be made with the aim of maintaining the safety, quality and financial viability of the tour.

Payments

Deposit €300

Reserve your place

A deposit of €300 per person is required to reserve a place on the tour. It should be paid promptly so that Rumbo a Picos can confirm your reservation and determine whether the minimum number of participants has been reached.

Final payment 30 days

Before departure

The outstanding balance must be paid no later than 30 days before the tour start date.

Cancellation policy

Cancellation by Rumbo a Picos

Rumbo a Picos may cancel a tour up to 30 days before departure if the minimum number of participants has not been reached. In this event, participants will receive a full refund of all payments made to Rumbo a Picos. Refunds will be paid by bank transfer within seven days of the cancellation notice.

65 days or more

Full refund

For cancellations made 65 days or more before departure, all payments received by Rumbo a Picos will be refunded in full.

64–31 days

50% cancellation fee

Cancellations made between 64 and 31 days before departure are subject to a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the amount paid. The remaining balance will be refunded.

30 days or fewer

No refund

No refund will be provided for cancellations made 30 days or fewer before departure.

Changes beyond our control

Rumbo a Picos may modify the programme or itinerary due to circumstances beyond its control, including force majeure, severe or unsuitable weather, or any other situation requiring changes to protect participants’ safety.

Leaving a tour early

A participant who decides to leave the tour for any reason must inform the guide of their decision in writing. Any costs arising from that decision will be the participant’s responsibility.

Insurance

Travel with the right protection

Activity insurance is included, but every participant must also arrange suitable personal travel insurance.

Activity insurance

This insurance exclusively covers risks arising from the hiking activities included in the tour programme.

Activity insurance does not replace personal travel insurance.

Required

Personal travel insurance

Every participant must obtain personal travel insurance with adequate cover for:

  • Overseas medical treatment
  • Emergency evacuation and repatriation
  • Baggage and personal equipment
  • Travel and tour cancellation costs

Important: Participants must bring proof of their travel insurance. The guides will ask to see it at the beginning of the tour.
