The "Alta Ruta de los Perdidos" is a project that originates firstly to ancient herdsmen & in recent times, to the ranger of the Bujaruelo mountain. It connects the livestock valley of Ara, uniting it with routes to two of the great massifs of the Pyrenees,  Monte Perdido and Vignemale. The route is 63 km and 5,000 meters of cumulative gain. It is gorgeous &  authentic, with spectacular mountains, glacial cirques and valleys, making this High Route of the Lost Ones an incomparable route to experience. 

La Alta Ruta de los Perdidos (High Route of the Lost Ones) is a challenging high mountain trek that demands fitness & high-level hiking experience.

Itinerary description

Book your Pyrenees Hut-to-hut high route of the Perdidos in the Ordesa National Park. Enjoy the mountains with a professional team, and come on the road with us.

Day 1. Arrival at Torla.
Description:

Arrival at Torla. Transfer to Bujaruelo Refuge. Check-in and briefing. Dinner and Accommodation.

Day 2. La Brecha and the Ordesa Canyon. From Bujaruelo to Góriz refugio/hut.15,9 Km +1,626m/- 761m.
Description:

Breakfast. From Bujaruelo, we cross the Roman bridge and ascend following the red and white markings that indicate the GR 11 as far as the Puerto de Bujaruelo pass. Here, we follow the sign that leads us to the Refugio de la Brecha de Rolando. From the Brecha de Rolando Refuge, we first continue a little to the right to begin the descent along a path marked by cairns/route markers that will take us to the Planas de Narciso. From here, we turn to our left (heading NE) and reach the Millares pass to continue along the plains of the same name until we reach the Góriz mountain hut. Dinner and overnight at Goriz Refugio.

Day 3. Collado de Añisclo and Pineta Valley. From Góriz to Pineta refugio/hut. 12,6 Km +625m/- 1583m
Description:

Breakfast. We leave Góriz following the GR 11 markings that gradually climb to the Collado Superior de Góriz. At this point, we leave the GR 11 that descends to the Añisclo Canyon and follow the route markers north-easterly through the Faja de las Olas to the Collado de Añisclo. In some locations, some chains help along challenging parts of the route. There is the option to avoid this technical part by descending to the Fuen Blanca and then ascending the Collado de Añisclo. We carefully descend the long and demanding descent from the Collado de Añisclo to the Mountain Hut. Dinner and overnight at Pineta mountain hut

Day 4. The Monte Perdido Glacier. From Pineta to Espuguettes refugio/hut. 17,2 Km +1.767m/-948 m
Description:

Breakfast. We follow the National Park signs from Pineta to the Balcón de Pineta and Lago de Marboré. We continue skirting the lake on the right towards the Tucarroya Gap and Refuge. We climb up to the gap, and from here, we descend along a steeply sloping channel with many loose rocks that require us to descend cautiously. If there is snow, the difficulty increases, and it is essential to use ice axes and crampons. There is also an alternative variant via Puerto Nuevo de Pineta that avoids this technical pass. Once we descend from the Brecha de Tucarroya, we head towards the Horquette d'Alans along an uphill path. Descend to the Espuguettes Refuge, where we will enjoy unbeatable views. Dinner and overnight at Espuguettes Mountain Hut.

Day 5. Gavarnie Valley. From Espuguettes to Bujaruelo. 18Km +950m/-1.650m
Description:

After a good breakfast on the French side, we will head towards the Gavarnie Cirque on a path to our left, which ends up entering the lower part near the Cirque in a large forest until we reach the Hotellerie du Cirque. From that point, we continue towards Gavarnie town until we reach a bridge from where a new path leaves on the left in the direction of Cabanne de Pouey dAspé, from where a slight ascent through the valley begins towards the Cabanne de Soldats and the Port de Boucharo, a French word to identify the Bujaruelo mountain pass.

Once at the mountain pass, you can clearly see the Gr-11 path going down again towards the Bujaruelo Refuge. End of this unforgettable trekking.

TERMS & CONDITIONS 

DEPOSIT

A deposit of 20% is required to reserve a place on the tour.  The Deposit should be paid immediately to ensure that the tour company Rumbo a Picos can confirm your reservation. 

FINAL PAYMENT

Final payment must be made not later than 30 days prior to the tour start date. 

CANCELLATION POLICY 

  • If the client cancels his/her booking prior to the tour start date,  to cover the tour company’s costs & administrative expenses, the company will retain for a  cancellation prior to 90days/€50, 60days/€100, 30days/€150 and will refund to the client all other payments received by the company from the client.
  • If the client cancels his/her booking within 30 days of the tour start date, the tour company will not make any refund to the client.
  • The tour company reserves the right to modify the tour program & the itinerary in the event of circumstances outside of their control, such as Force Majure, severe or unsuitable weather or any other circumstances they consider necessary to ensure the safety of the tour participants. 
  • If a participant decides to abandon the tour for whatever reason, he/she should inform the Guide in writing of their decision.  Any related expenses must be paid by the participant.
